5 January 1944 - [then] Lt. Jack L. Raphael's P-47 Thunderbolt VF-R rests in the bomb dump behind the 335th Fighter Squadron's dispersal after its rudder locked on take off. It collided with another parked P-47, Serial No. 41-6359, on the dispersal before coming to a stop.
