A telegram to Mrs Hubert Zemke (wife of the commanding officer of the 479th Fighter Group) from Mike Mansfield informing her of Colonel Zemke's liberation from Stalag Luft I, 14 May 1945. Zemke has handwritten on the reverse: 'Telegram from US House of Representatives from Montana. For many year he was the leader of the US House of Representatives. For a number of years (including the present he serves at the ambassador to Japan) though a member of the opposition of Ronald Regan. The Zemke's knew "Mike" Mansfield as a young professor at the Univ of Montana, Missoula, MT.'
