Handwritten caption on reverse: 'Bradley Field, Conneticut, April 1942, Having returned from a brief [illegible] the USSR as a Army Air Force Observer in March 1942- assignment was to the 56th Fighter Group as an Assistant [illegible] Officer. This didn;t last long as 1st Air Force at Mitchell Field LI, New York found a new job in short order. Twenty (20) Chinese National Pilots had graduated from flying school at [illegible] Field in Arizona. They needed to be checked out in P-36 fighter A/C before returning to China. Captain Zemke giving Chinese inspector instruction on throttle.'
