Captain Everett S Lindley, a pilot of the 1st Fighter Group, 15th Air Force, enjoys a plate of eggs after being liberated from Prisoner of War camp by the 3rd Army, 7 May 1945. Handwritten by Lindley on reverse: '"I once was lost but now, I'm found Amazing Grace!" I was liberated by Patton's 3rd Army, just outside Freisling, Germany. This picture was taken by Pilot Officer Peter Cook, RAF, a fellow prisoner on May 7 1945. Here we stopped to commandeer some food from the local inhabitants. Captain Everett S Lindley, USAAF.
