P-38J-10-LO, s/n 42-67653, coded F5-L of the 428th Fighter Squadron, 474th Fighter Group prepares for take off. This ship was shot down by flak near Joubieval, Belgium on 27 December 1944. The pilot, 2Lt. Lewis R. Blakeney, bailed out and was taken POW (MACR 11469).
