America's New Fighter 'Plane. A new American single-engined, monoplane fighter, designed for fast speeds at high altitudes, has now arrived in England for service with fighter squadrons. In the States, where it is in quantitiy production for the U.S.A.A.F, it is popularly known as the P-47, but over here it has been officially named "Thunderbolt".
