William Stevenson

Shot down by fighters on return from mission to Oschersleben on 11 Jan 1944 in B-17G 42-31076 'Chief Sly's Son'. Prisoner of War (POW).



Stevenson spent 16 months in Stalag Luft 1.



After the war he was manager of Sholem's Good Shoes in Danville and a life member of the American Legion and the 8th Air Force Historical Society. He died April 25th 2005 being survived by his wife Lois, four daughters and one son.
