Hit by flak just before reaching the target in the Pas-de-Calais area, FR on 26 Mar 1944, B-17G #42-97663 crashed NE of Boulogne-sur-Mer, FR after the crew baled out. Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft I, Barth, Germany.

He afterwards worked in the hardware business. He died 1 January 2000 in Oroville CA.
