On return from fighter support mission to Oschersleben on 11 Jan 1944, P-47D #42-75090 got separated from the flight in extremely poor weather and crashed near RAF Rednall, Shropshire. Killed in Action (KIA)
Lt. Tucker was graduated from Moon Field, TX, and received his wings on March 20, 1943. He was one of ten men of his class chosen to fly one of the Army's newest fighter planes. During his training, he scored an average of 35.8 above the expert gunners.
Lt. Tucker was a P-47 pilot and was killed when his plane crashed in England due to enemy fire after the first daylight raid over Germany on January 11, 1944.
