He registered for the WW II draft on 01 July 1941; he was listed as living in Kittanning, Pennsylvania and he was listed as a steel worker employed by the Braeburn Steel Mill, Braeburn, Pennsylvania. He was 5' 6" tall; weighed 155 pounds; had brown hair, brown eyes and a 'ruddy' complexion.

He entered the service on 22 June 1942 from Olmsted Field, Middletown Air Depot, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Air Corps as a Private; he had four years of high school education, was married and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Semiskilled occupations in mechanical treatment of metals (rolling, stamping, forging, pressing, etc.), n.e.c.".

He was listed on the 437th TCG Association rosters from 1972 until 2006; over the years, he attended many of their reunions.

We have him listed as participating in two 437th TCG flights: Mission Elmira on 06 June 1944 and the movement of 437th TCG Glider Pilots in support of Operation Dragoon in August 1944; according to Frank Guild's book, 'Action of the Tiger', Dragoon was the only operation when the 437th GPs were towed by another group.
