Object Number - UPL 36220 - Lt. Dean's crew of the 8th AF 398th Bomb Group by their B-17 at their base in England, 4 February 1945. Handwritten: (GPR-255-1-398) (4-2-1945)....

Crew arrived in England late in August and due to good orgnization at the base and superb fighter support in combat, we had a relatively easy time. While flak was still bad, hardly ever saw any enemy aircraft. When this occurred, fighters were in hot pursuit.
