Capt. Walter T "Nip" Carter, Prescott AZ, 503rd Fighter Squadron. P-51B 42-106863 D7-B "Mon Petite" named for his wife Marie. Capt Carter was flying this a/c on 21 May 1944 when he became a POW.
Assigned to 503FS, 339FG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) fighter sweep Liepzig hit by ground fire whilst strafing a Locomotive in P-51B 42-106863 A/C crashed at Klein Schkorlopp on 21-May-44. Wounded and captured, Prisoner of War (POW) MACR 4987.
