Killed in Action (KIA) crashed near St Trond, Belgium in P-47 42-8607. Seen being attacked by at least 2 FW in the vicinity of Aachen. Earlier on 3 February 1943 in P-47C 41-6257 was forced to land. Had a wheels up landing at a ploughed field at Elms Farm, Wittering.
