Killed in action (KIA) on 26-Feb-43 in B-17F #42-5362 "Short Snorter II" 91BG/401BS while serving as Co-Pilot. The aircraft was shot down by German aircraft and crashed into the North Sea just west of the Frisian Islands while on a mission to Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
