MilitaryMOS 902 = Weapons Mechanic, Aircraft. Per the May01 News, he was sent to the RAF armament school where he qualified as a Spitfire armorer, but the closest he ever came to a Spitfire was when one flew over Wendling. Was a classmate of Leonard Price, Don Maso
Went over on the Queen Mary to the Firth of Clyde. Flown back in one of the Group's aircraft - crew flew back with 10 ground crew passenger. Stood on the cat walk in the bomb bay on take-off because Thomas loaded the bombs. Edward Perry, from Massachusetts, was the Radio Operator and he invited Thomas to come up to the flight deck.
