2nd Lt Theodore R. Zech was born November 4, 1921. His next of kin was his father, Theodore Zech, Sr. He was from Richardton, North Dakota.
He was the Navigator aboard B-17 tail #44-6304 of the 305th Bomb Group, 422nd Bomb Squadron, when it crashed over Vollradisroda, Germany, on August 16, 1944. Of the crew of ten on board, only the pilot, 2nd Lt Darrell V. Betz, survived.
He is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
