Terrence Williams served as a pilot with the 77th Fighter Squadron of the 20th Fighter Group. On 14 June 1944, he strafed a train at Zwolle and was hit by Flak in the second pass. Captain Williams parachuted out and came in contact with the aircraft. He was helped into a house, but was severely wounded on the legs and could not walk. He was taken as a Prisoner of War (POW) and held in Stalag Luft III.
