MilitaryOn 12 October 1944 his B-17 'Inside Curve' (serial number 42-39973) "went down spinning and twisting. Then in a nose dive, it blew up with all of my crew of nine, killing all but my Navigator, Sidney Solomon, and me, Paschal H. Powell.
