Sheldon "John" Moore served as a Ball Turret Gunner with the 457th Bomb Group.



He was shot down on 28 May 1944 in B-17 42-97067 'Georgia Peach'. He survived, jumping out of the aircraft as it hit the ground.

He was taken as a Prisoner of War (POW).
