While returning to base in an A. 35 airplane as passenger, the airplane in which Lt. Jett was flying on the back leg of the landing pattern caught fire necessitating the pilot bellying the ship in a nearby field. Lt. Jett received severe burns and died the next day in the East Suffolk Hospital, Ipswich, England, as a result of these burns. Status: Died of result from burns recieved 8th July 1945.
