Roland R Wright
MilitaryRoland Wright was assigned to the 357th Fighter Group on 14 November 1944. He was promoted to First Lieutenant on 10 February 1945.
In total Wright shot down three enemy aircraft during the war. One of these victories was on 20 January 1945.
Wright joined the Utah Air National Guard in 1946 and served during the Korean War. He retired from the Utah Air National Guard in 1976.
Roland recently unveiled the newly-named Roland R. Wright Utah Air National Guard Base, east of Salt Lake City.
