Despite previous remarks, this photo is not associated with "The Flying Jackass", which was flown by Rice crew on Wesel Supply MIssion 24Mar45 and ultimately destroyed by Lancaster which ran into it while parked at Manston due to hydraulic failure due to flak.

Robert "Bob" Dircks was born January 31, 1924, in Columbus Junction, the son of Leo F. and Minnie M. (Hendrickson) Dircks. He died in Colton St., Columbus Junction, Iowa, on January 26, 2005.
