Shot down after plane was attacked by German fighter planes. Four crew members were Killed in Action (KIA). Parachuted and landed in a farm field and was picked up by Belgian farmers. They took me to their home, contacted U. S. medics and I got to a field hospital at Leige, Belgium to begin medical treatment.
About two weeks later was flown back to U. S. for rehab. B-17G 44-8192 'Lindy Lou'.
