MilitaryAssigned to 654BS, 25BG, 8AF USAAF. 53 x combat mission flown, last 13 x in Mosquitos crewed up with George Brooks. 25-Oct-44 night photography mission to Duisberg (Joker) in Mosquito NS582. Mech problems caused them to bale out. Baled out of top emergency exit hatch, landing in a farmers field, his pilot died after striking the tailplane during his egress. The farmer then contacted the local police who picked up Taylor and took him to Ypres to a Canadian unit, he was then taken to Brussels where he related his story to an American unit at Melsbroek. He subsequently returned to Huntington via B-17 and thence by truck to Watton. Returned to Duty (RTD)
