Mech problems caused them to bale out. Baled out of top emergency exit hatch, landing in a farmers field, his pilot died after striking the tailplane during his egress. The farmer then contacted the local police who picked up Taylor and took him to Ypres to a Canadian unit, he was then taken to Brussels where he related his story to an American unit at Melsbroek. He subsequently returned to Huntington via B-17 and thence by truck to Watton. Returned to Duty (RTD)
