Shot down 13 June 1943 in B-17 #42-29737 'Louise' on 3rd mission on mission to Kiel. Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft III until 27 January 1945. 85 km forced march in snowstorm to Stalag VIIA at Moosburg where liberated 29 April 1945 by 14th armored division.
