After being attacked by ME109s on a mission to Frankfurt am Main on 8 Feb 1944, 5 crewman of B-17G #42-40020 baled out, but the pilots regained control and attempted to return to England . A/c crashed near Macquenoise, Belgium. Evaded (EVD). Returned to England by 21 May 1944.
