"(Taken from a letter to Will Lundy)

Atlanta, Georgia

January 28, 1988

Dear Mr. Lundy:

I was very pleased and excited to receive your letter dated January 19, 1988. A quick "bottom-line" answer is Yes, I am a former member of the 44th Bomb Group, 67th Squadron, and the person you were seeking.

First, a couple of small corrections: my name is Ralph L. Giddish (not Giddich). My correct street address is as you have it, 2691 Weigelia Road, NE, Atlanta, GA. The correct zip is 30345.

Norman E. Bartlett was the pilot of our bomber crew. The following are the names of the crewmembers, which I verified from the travel orders, which took us overseas.

Pilot - Norman E. Bartlett

Copilot - Carl A. Sannes

Navigator - Robert W. Mountsier

Bombardier - Francis R. Burne

Engineer - Russell P. Thompson

Radio Operator- Ralph L. Giddish

Waist Gunner - John N. Milliken

Waist Gunner - Paul F. McGirr

Tail Gunner - Fred Kobus

Ball Tur. Gun - Oral J. Thompson

I tried on several occasions to obtain information regarding all my former fellow crewmembers but was not successful. I really didn't know how to go about it.

I would be very pleased to receive any information you have obtained on any of them and news in general of the 44th.

I had face-to-face contact with John N. Milliken in 1985. At that time his address was 3722 SE 3rd Ave., Cape Coral, Florida 33904.

Thank you very much for the contact. I look forward to hearing more.

Regards, Ralph Giddish

Phone: 404-634-0795

P.S. I will accept a collect call if you wish to call. I am available in the evenings, Monday through Friday."
