I received permission several years ago from my grandfagher’s Co-Pilot, Lt. Tom Mogren.

My grandfather started the war as a pilot instructor in New Mexico (B-17s) and was repeatedly turned down combat assignments to keep training until finally granted in ‘45. He was lead pilot for several

missions and stayed in the Air Force reserves in NY until he retired from the NYPD as a narcotics detective.
