Killed in Action (KIA) 5  January 1944 in P-47C #41-6331. Missing In Action. Date of death recorded as a year and a day after he went missing. Major Leach's name is on the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge American Cemetery.

 

Earlier on April 15, 1943, as a F/O was involved in a training accident in P-47 41-6272 with squadron mate LeRoy Dodd.
