STREUN's surname was correctly spelled "STREUN" and his crew's 369th Squadron was correctly identified by Russell Strong in the label affixed to this flight crew's photograph, in the book of 306th BG Combat Crew photographs compiled by Russell A Strong and published in 2004. The photo of the crew included the label listing the crew's officers on the front row as: Joseph Sicard bombardier, Lewis Wilson navigator, Robert Whitelaw co-pilot, and Kenneth Streun pilot; and listed the crew's enlisted men on the back row as: Alfred Lubojacky ball turret, Leon Nahmias tail gunner, Frank McDonough waist gunner, James Standlee engineer, Hardin McChesney radio operator.
Their names are shown in full [though STREUN is shown mis-spelled as STRINE] with middle initials, and "Jr" where appropriate, along with each man's Ser # in:
(1) Russell Strong's Card File, the original of which is housed at the National Museum of the Mighty 8th Air Force near Savannah, Georgia.
(2) Special Order Number 320 on 11 Dec 1944 for AAF Station 111 [Thurleigh; 306th Bomb Group] listing him and his incoming 369th Bomb Squadron crew as Crew 38.
That Special Order Number 320 of 11 Dec 1944 for AAF Station 111 [Thurleigh; 306th Bomb Group] lists as CREW 38:
2Lt Pilot KENNETH H STRINE [SIC; misspelling of his surname, which is correctly spelled STREUN] Ser # O775186
2Lt Co-Pilot ROBERT S WHITELAW Ser # O782432
2Lt LEWIS L WILSON Ser # O2068817 [should be listed as Navigator]
F/O JOSEPH R SICARD Ser # T129559 [should be listed as Bombardier]
T/Sgt (748) James F Standlee Jr Ser # 17023812
Cpl (611) Leon (NMI) Nahmias Ser # 42076275
Cpl (611) Alfred S Lubojacky Ser # 38561682

His surname was correctly spelled STREUN, and his position correctly shown as Pilot, by Russell Strong in the label affixed to his flight crew's photograph, which crew included Hardin Field McChesney and Alfred Lubojacky, as well as navigator Lewis Wilson. Streun and Wilson on 1 January 1945 were on their officer-familiarization combat mission with Robert D Stewart, and Stewart's crew, while the other members of Streun's own crew (which had reported to Thurleigh on 11 Dec 1944) were not flying that day. The labeled version of the crew photo appears on p.109 of the book of photos, "Combat Crews -- The 306th Bombardment Group (H), 1942-1945" compiled by Russell A. Strong, published September 2004.
Streun's name was further mis-spelled as "Strine" while he was correctly listed as the Pilot and his Ser # was listed as Ser # O775186 in:
(1) Special Order Number 320 on 11 Dec 1944 for AAF Station 111 [Thurleigh; 306th Bomb Group] listing him and his incoming 369th Squadron crew as Crew 38.

His surname is correctly spelled "STREUN" in the review of the book written about him by his widow, "Once There Was a Man." The review is in the October 1999 issue of the "306th Echoes" newsletter, on p.6. The book cover shows her name as Cille Fletcher and the review notes that Cille Fletcher, or Lucille, became Streun's young bride, and thus his widow.
His surname was correctly spelled by Russell Strong in the label affixed to his flight crew's photograph, which crew included Hardin Field McChesney and Alfred S. Lubojacky, as well as navigator Lewis L. Wilson. Both Streun and Wilson on 1 January 1945 were on their officer-familiarization combat mission with Robert D Stewart, and Stewart's crew, while the other members of Streun's own crew (which had reported to Thurleigh on 11 Dec 1944) were not flying that day. The labeled version of the crew photo appears on p.109 of the book of photos, "Combat Crews -- The 306th Bombardment Group (H), 1942-1945" compiled by Russell A. Strong, published September 2004.
Streun's name was further mis-spelled as "Strine" and his Ser # was listed as Ser # O775186 in:
(1) Special Order Number 320 on 11 Dec 1944 for AAF Station 111 [Thurleigh; 306th Bomb Group] listing him and his incoming 369th Squadron crew as Crew 38.
(2) Due to the above-mentioned Special Order, his surname was also misspelled in Russell Strong's Card File of index cards he kept on 306th BG men; the original of his Card File is housed at the National Museum of the Mighty 8th Air Force near Savannah, Georgia.
