Military ROLL OF HONOURKilled in Action (KIA). B-17 42-3268 'Carol Jane'. Plane exploded on take-off, had reached 500 feet when it veered sharply to the side. Bomb load blew up and the gasoline all at one time. Everyone on board was killed. Close died of injuries day later.
