Joe Rodgers enlisted in the army on December 7, 1941. He was sent to Bombardier School and after graduating, was assigned to the 92nd Bombardment Group, Heavy at Podington, England and completed 33 missions. He was recalled back into service during the Korean Conflict, after which, he became a teacher of Fine Arts. Some of his artwork is included in the U.S. Air Force Art Collection.
