Shot down by fighters and crashed W of Eusweiler/Elsdorf after the crew bailed out on a mission to the ball bearing works at Erkner-Berlin on 6 Mar 1944 in B-17G #42-31448 'Half Breed'. Prisoner of War (POW).

Original BTG on the Saur crew. That crew was shot down 11 January 1944 without Sgt Snyder or the original bombardier, 2Lt E. Rudnicki.
