James Maple Mayfield
Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down 24 April 1944 in B-17 #42-31816. Bailed out, but his parachute didn't fully open and he was seriously wounded. Immediately captured by the Germans, he was cared for in a French hospital in Hirson. Transferred to a military hospital in Reims, he died there on 19 June 1944.
