A direct flak hit on a mission to Watten, FR on 26 Mar 1944, caused B-17G #42-37833 'Omar the Dent Maker' to explode in mid-air and crash E of Abbeville, FR. Killed in Action (KIA).
On 26 Nov 1946 Bremen mission, he was waist gunner.
