Howard S Head
MilitaryStaff Sergeant Howard S. Head was born November 28, 1918. His next of kin were his parents, Jocephas and Bessie, Head. He also had a cousin, Seaman 2nd Class Harold Head, who was killed in the sinking of the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
On February 25, 1944, SSGT Head was serving as the Bombardier aboard B-26 tail #41-31648 of the 387th Bomb Group (M), 558th Bomb Squadron (M), when it went down over the North Sea on return from a mission to Venlo, Holland.
His remains were never recovered.
