'Since my WWII with the 8th air force on B-17s 34 missions from April 1944-August 1945 over Germany-France-Belgium-Poland to 1st Shuttle missions to Poltava, Russia-we lost 60-70 B17s from the greatest Air Raid the German Luftwaffe ever had-we were the victims-returned to England by ATC-Through Africa to England.
Awards; DFC, Air Medal with 5 clusters, Freedom Medallion (French) and Russian Medal commemorating the Poltava mission.
8AF, 452 BG, 728 BS- 34 missions B-17s. D-Day- 1st Shuttle Raid to Russia, 6/21/44- 5/12/ 44. Berlin 4x, Kiel, Brunswick- Munich- Regensburg, Bostock.'
