North American P-51D-15-NA Mustang, "Alabama Rammer Jammer", s/n 44-15092, 352nd FS, 353rd FG, 8th AF. Lt. Cundy's assigned aircraft. He was KIA on March 11,1945 when it developed a coolant leak that led to engine failure and fire. He was last seen diving through the clouds towards the North Sea. His body was never found.

First combat tour he flew 85 missions; 2nd tour he flew 38 missions in a P51-D 'Miss Illinitit' shooting down 23 Me109's and 2 FW190's to become a fighter pilot ace. One of only five of his group. He flew many staffing missions and piloted during the first tactical use of the air corps to support ground troops during the invasion of Normandy.
