A bomber crew of the 93rd Bomb Group with their B-24 Liberator (serial number 41-23722) nicknamed "Bomerang".

The "pioneer" heavy bombardment group was led by Brig Gen Edward J (Ted) Timberlake, Jr., of St Patersburg, Fla. This crew took the bomber into combat over Lille, France, on 9 October 1942; mastered "Bomerang" for 23 missions. Shot down 16 April 1943 in B-24 #41-23983. Some crew members had baled out when the plane exploded blowing some crew clear. Daly was killed in his turret.
