Flew 35 missions on 'Mary Alice'. Merseburg mission November 25, 1944 had rough trip back. Served on crew of Lt. Cracraft. November 30, 1944, flak was heavy. He had a near miss, Lieutenant Hoag was hit and semi blinded and leadership led to Distinguished Service Cross. Waist gunner had 2 fingers severed and Fenwick applied 1st Aid.
