Glenn Utah Hill
Military"Iowans of the Mighty Eighth", Chapter 22 "Biographies", by Charles D Taylor.
He was drafted in December 1943, trained as a gunner and joined the Group at Attlebridge where he flew on 35 combat missions; the last being on 5th April 1945. He returned to the USA a month later on a Liberty ship which had been converted into a hospital ship for returning POWs 'They were thin...just like animals, many got seasick - felt sorry for the poor devils'.
He afterwards returned to work for Louden Machinery, was a Life Member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 8thAF Historical society.
