Glen was born the son of a schoolteacher in Cambridge, ID on December 2nd, 1916. He was a flight officer in the Army Air Corps in 1940. Serving in the European Theatre, he was awarded several medals as a P-51 Mustang fighter "ace." On his last mission, he parachuted into occupied central France when his engine failed. Several very brave French families hid him from the Germans for four months until the Resistance smuggled him back to England. Twenty years later, as a U.S. Air Force Officer, he returned to France to thank the French families for their courageous assistance. After WWII, Glen was a career Air Force officer, retiring in 1971 as Colonel.
