Ditched in the North Sea 13 May 1944 in B-17 #42-107032 'Anytime Annie'. Returned to base. One of the four members on Dingman plane, shot down on 17 June, who evaded capture and spent approximately 100 days in France with varous French F. F. I. units. Returned to England shortly after 1 Sep 1944 when location in France was liberated by Canadian Tank unit. Assigned short time to intelilgence unit in London, then back to Thurleigh for brief period before returning back to the States.
