Chelmsford, Massachussets 17 August 2021 Mr. George J. Sorbello, 98, a resident of Chelmsford, MA died Tuesday evening, August 17, 2021. He was a loving husband for over 71 years to the late Mrs. Josephine S. (Sgroi) Sorbello who died December 31, 2020. George was the son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Raite) Sorbello. George was a graduate of Canastota High School with the class of 1941, where he was also the High School Boxing Champion. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps aboard a B25 as a radioman during WWII completing over 51 missions in the European Theater. Following the end of the war George was employed as a civilian worker as a Logistics Specialist on many posts including Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY; Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK and Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. Following his career as an Air Force Civilian he worked at Analytical Systems Engineering Corporation in Burlington, MA supporting various Air Force Electronics systems until he retired in 1992. In his retirement George was a licensed Real Estate Broker. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Chelmsford Elks, Greater Boston Chapter Society of Logistics Engineers, NARFE. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, MA.
