Killed in Action (KIA) on 29-Nov-43 as pilot of P-47D 42-7893, 56FG/63FS on a mission to provide penetration support to bombers attacking at Bremen, Germany. The aircraft sustained a mechanical malfunction and crashed into the sea 20 miles west of Ijmuiden, Holland.
