Fred Marker
MilitaryUploaded
My grandfather, Fred Marker, was born in Laurel, Montana in 1918. He later moved to Waterville, Washington and then East Wenatchee, Washington. He enlisted in the Army Air Force on 9 January 1941--just after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He wanted to be a pilot, but couldn't pass the hearing test. (He had spent his youth around heavy machinery on farms) He ended up serving as a personnel specialist and First Sergeant.

I have his DD214 from the United States Army and will upload it into this database as well. My grandfather passed away several years ago at the age of 94.
