Object Number - UPL 30587 - Floyd W. Smith, kneeling, fourth from left.

Floyd W. Smith was born on 12 February 1915 in Fyffe, Alabama and enlisted in the Army Air Corps on or about 17 August 1942. When I was a child he related some details of his experience stating that he primarily served as a waist gunner. Flight records in my possession indicate thirty missions flown; from 9 September 1943 through 23 February 1945; signed "Certified Correct"

Charles R. Ham, 1st Lieutenant, Air Corps Operations Officer.
