approx 40 miles east of The Hague 12 August 1944 Augusto survived the ditching of his B-24 in the North Sea about 40 miles east of The Hague, Netherlands.

Attleboro, MA, USA 29 July 2014 WESTERLY - Fernando (Fred) C. Augusto, age 92, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born in Portugal on Dec. 9, 1921. He moved to Valley Falls, R.I., when he was 7 years old. He leaves his loving wife, Gloria, to whom he was married for 66 years.Fernando served in World War II, where he earned a Purple Heart and a Certificate of Valor.
