A P-38J-10-LO Lightning (KI-V, serial number 42-67860) of the 55th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group. Aircraft lost 24 February 1944. The pilot, Lt. Everett E. Geiger, bailed out due to engine/mechanical failure near Hillegom, Holland on a bomber escort mission. Geiger was taken POW and sent to Stalag Luft I, Barth, Germany (MACR 2666).
