Eugene T. Russell (Gene Russell) was deployed overseas in August 1944 and was assigned to the 95th Bombardment Group in Suffolk, England (Horham / Station 119) until the war’s end in May 1945. He flew 29 combat sorties in the B-17 Flying Fortress. He was designated a “Lead Navigator” for his bomb group early on in his tenure at Horham.
